Parent app

The school in a parent's pocket — and an SMS for the parents without one.

Standard plan and above

Why it matters

01

One account for every child

A guardian with children in different classes — or different Msomi schools — signs in once and switches between them. No second account, no second password.

02

The questions parents actually ask

Was my child in school today? How did they do in the exam? What do we owe? Is there homework? Where is the bus? Each of those is a screen rather than a phone call to the office.

03

Nobody excluded for lack of a smartphone

Every notification the app delivers has an SMS equivalent. A guardian on a feature phone gets the same attendance alert, the same fee reminder and the same bus notification.

Parent engagement is the outcome every school wants and the one most systems deliver worst — usually as a web portal nobody signs into twice.

The Msomi parent app is built around the five questions guardians actually ask, and it answers each of them without a phone call to the office: attendance today, results this term, the fee balance, what homework is outstanding, and where the bus is.

One account, however complicated the family

A guardian with three children signs in once. Because Msomi identifies a person at platform level rather than per school, a parent with children at two different Msomi schools still has one account and simply switches between them. Adding a second child uses a verified one-time code rather than a new registration.

The parents who do not have smartphones

This is the part most systems get wrong. A significant proportion of Kenyan guardians do not use a smartphone, and a parent-engagement strategy that assumes otherwise excludes exactly the families that most need contact from the school.

Every notification the app delivers has an SMS equivalent, sent automatically to guardians who are not using the app. The attendance alert, the fee reminder, the exam result and the bus notification all reach a feature phone. No guardian is left out because of their handset.

See Parent app working on your school data

A demo runs about forty minutes and uses your own class lists, frameworks and grading — so you are looking at your school rather than a sample database.

Or try it first — the Trial tier gives you a full term, free, with every module unlocked.
