For teachers
Less paperwork, on the phone already in your hand.
- Take the register in under a minute, in the classroom
- Enter marks for your own classes — nobody retypes them
- Works offline when the signal in the block does not
Teachers generate almost all the data a school management system runs on, and are usually the people that system serves worst. Attendance and marks are collected on paper because the software lives on a desktop in the staffroom, then typed up by somebody who was not in the room.
Every retyping step is a step where information is delayed and errors are introduced, and it is work done twice.
Msomi’s teacher app exists to remove those steps. The register is taken in the classroom. Marks are entered by the person who did the marking. Both work offline, because connectivity in a classroom block cannot be assumed and a system that requires it is a system teachers will abandon inside a term.
What a teacher gets back is time, and a considerably shorter end of term.
What you can do
- 01
Take the register where the class is
Your stream's roll loads already marked present. Tap the exceptions, submit, done. No paper register carried to the office, no list typed up by somebody else two days later.
Modules
- 02
Enter your own marks
You see the mark sheets for the subjects and streams you actually teach, and nothing else. Grades, points and remarks are applied automatically from the school's grading system as you save.
Modules
- 03
Know where you are meant to be
Your personal timetable for the day and the week, updated the moment the school changes it. No photograph of a wall chart.
Modules
- 04
Set work and see who has done it
Assignments with due dates, submissions tracked per learner, and marking returned with feedback — so you know who has handed in without counting exercise books.
Modules
- 05
Talk to guardians directly
Message a learner's guardian from the class roll. Log a discipline incident or a merit and have the guardian notified according to the school's policy.
Modules
- 06
Run your department
Heads of department see teaching load across their staff, subject performance across streams, and where allocation is unbalanced — while there is still time to change it.
See Msomi running on your own school data
A demo takes about forty minutes. Bring a class list and we will set up your frameworks, levels and grading while you watch — so you are looking at your school rather than ours.
Or try it first — the Trial tier gives you a full term, free, with every module unlocked.
