Transport & driver management

Every bus, every route, every driver, every renewal date.

Why it matters

01

Compliance dates that warn you

Driving licences, PSV badges, insurance and inspection certificates all expire. Msomi holds those dates and warns the transport manager before they lapse, rather than after a police stop.

02

Routes with real stops and real riders

A route is a sequence of named stops with times and an assigned vehicle and driver. Learners are allocated to a stop, which is what makes an accurate manifest — and accurate parent notifications — possible.

03

Drivers get their own limited access

A driver signs in to see today's route and manifest and nothing else. No learner records, no marks, no fees.

For a school that runs buses, transport is the second-largest operational risk after the learners themselves — and it is usually managed on a clipboard.

Msomi treats the fleet as a managed asset. Vehicles carry registration details, capacity and service history. Drivers carry their licence, PSV badge, and the expiry dates that matter. Insurance and inspection certificates are tracked with advance warnings, so a renewal is a diary item rather than a discovery.

Routes and riders

A route is an ordered sequence of named stops with scheduled times, assigned a vehicle and a driver. Learners are allocated to a route and to a specific stop — not simply “on the bus”. That allocation is what produces an accurate daily manifest, and it is the foundation the bus notification module builds on.

What a driver can see

The driver role exists in Msomi as a real, restricted role. A driver signs in and sees today’s route and today’s manifest. They confirm boarding. They do not see learner records, marks, fee balances or anything belonging to the rest of the school.

A demo runs about forty minutes and uses your own class lists, frameworks and grading — so you are looking at your school rather than a sample database.

Or try it first — the Trial tier gives you a full term, free, with every module unlocked.
